Three Iranian films ‘The Salesman’, ‘Bleed the Night’ and ‘Exit’ are scheduled to go on screen at the 6th edition of Irvine International Film Festival (IIFF) in the US.

The Feature Narrative section of the festival will screen ‘The Salesman’ by acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi.

This comes as the National Board of Review in New York has recently selected ‘The Salesman’ as the best foreign language film of the year.

The film tells the story of a young couple named Emad (Shahab Hosseini) and Rana (Taraneh Alidousti) who move into a new flat in the center of Tehran, but an incident linked to the previous tenant dramatically changes their life.

Being nominated for the best foreign language film category at the 89th Academy Awards, ‘The Salesman’ has already won double awards for best screenplay and best actor at the Cannes Film Festival this year.

Farhadi's most famous movie, ‘A Separation’, grabbed global recognition as becoming the first Iranian movie to win an Oscar at the 84th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.

Short film ‘Bleed the Night’ directed by Reza Qasemi will be displayed at the Short Narrative section.

Another Iranian short film ‘Exit’ directed by Babak Habibifar is set to go on screen at the Short Short Narrative section of the event.

Offering more than simply a film competition, IIFF is a thrilling place to swap perspectives, merge ideas, engage in eye-opening debates, forge new friendships, and uncover unknown talents.

The 6th edition of IIFF is scheduled to be held in the American city of Irvine on January 21-22.
